I seem to always be in a hurry when I am mocking up a concept for myself to remember for when I go back to work on it with more time, but then I end up liking the rough version. Which is what I have been doing tonite while I wait for my cake to cook! These both appeal to me for different reasons. Would make cool tote bags or something.
Pen sketch, coffee stain and digital colour
I love these drawings. It would be amazing on a product. Very pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Giselle! You have some lovely work on your blog.
DeleteI would love to make cushions one day with some patterns like this... one day :)
The coffee stain works so well on these flowers! I love the way you drew the petals :) What sort of paper did you use?
ReplyDeleteThank you Etudesque! I just used my sketchbook paper - just the standard visual diaries you get in the newsagent, love the thickness of the paper on them.
DeleteLove your illustration this week - total respect for anyone who can draw figures in proportion :)
Thanks, bianca :)
DeleteSo for the coffee stain, did you dilute it with water, or did you apply it straight from the pot? ;)
I made a strong coffee with a coffee-bag and used that straight onto the paper instead of with a brush. Then I just adjust the hue/saturation all the time on my artworks. Have a few different coffee stains I cycle through - like the background of this blog (splashes). The one on the art above has real subtle tones which I love. Love being messy! :)
